Path of Exile 2 Creators Debate Going the Diablo 4 Route

Enemies drop treasure of varying rarities along the journey, which you may equip to gradually enhance your character and become even stronger. With that power comes the ability to face new bosses, who drop even better riches and force you to face more formidable foes.

Path Of Exile 2 vs Diablo 4 Comparisons
Grinding Gear Games revealed a lengthy 30-minute teaser previewing the gameplay of PoE 2, an upcoming action RPG planned to enter closed beta on June 7, 2024, during the just finished ExileCon 2023, a celebratory event dedicated to all things Path of Exile.

Following the presentation, various members of the development team took part in an in-depth interview on their future game, giving light on the development process and even discussing the game PoE and PoE 2 are most frequently compared to by the community – Blizzard’s Diablo IV.

While aims to innovate in the genre, there are enough parallels with Diablo 4 that fans of one will certainly love the other. Both series are noted for their tougher approach to gaming, which may appeal to both traditionalists and newbies.PoE 2’s free-to-play status helps it, but the games’ macabre visuals, darkly demonic feel, and complexity of character-building should make for an interesting encounter. PoE 2’s sheer number of options for shaping characters should rival even Diablo 4’s promise of increased personalization, guaranteeing that both titles expand on their fundamental previous editions in new ways.

Is Path of Exile 2 a continuation?
Despite what we were previously informed, the creators revealed at the recent ExileCon that Path of Exile 2 will be released as a standalone game. This is merely due to the game’s scope expanding, which means it is no longer appropriate for an expansion or update, as was previously planned.

This means that Path of Exile 1 and 2 will no longer share an endgame or campaign, with Path of Exile 2 being its own beast entirely. Path of Exile 1 will, however, continue.
