Elon Musk and Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino presented a new logo for Twitter on Monday. This replaced the well-known blue bird icon with a white ‘X’ on a black background.
“X is present! Let’s do this,” tweeted Yaccarino, who also shared a photo of the company’s San Francisco offices with the new logo for twitter projected on them. Musk paid $44 billion to acquire the social networking site last year, and since then a new logo has been introduced along with several controversial changes.
Yaccarino gives us a sneak preview of the platform’s potential uses, which go beyond simple microblogging. “X is the future state of unrestricted interaction,” said Yaccarino, “centered on audio, video, texting. With the help of AI, X will link us all in ways that are yet in their infancy.”

Founded in 1999, the company’s name was eventually changed to PayPal. Musk later sold the PayPal name and made a fortune. Rebranding was the logical next step, and it is currently being done.

Fontendo, a font enthusiast, said that the symbol is an X “from the font ‘Special Alphabets 4′ from Monotype’s Special Alphabets’ font family.” Using screenshots, Fontendo subsequently demonstrated how the new Twitter X logo resembles the letter in Special Alphabets 4.
The lower-case letter from the font appears as the logo on Twitter’s website right now.
Merritt clarified that the X he had originally provided was not the show’s logo but rather a direct result of the font. The creator of his podcast’s logo, claimed, “was inspired by a font he found online.” The real podcast logo is a thicker X than the one Musk used for Twitter’s new logo from an earlier Merritt tweet.
