In a delightful surprise for young audiences, the beloved character Trolley from “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” is set to make a real track debut in the upcoming season of Donkey Hodie’s new episodes. Starting August 14th, PBS Kids is all set to premiere five brand-new episodes of the show, each featuring the revamped Trolley in action. The distinct and familiar “dings” of Trolley, a signature sound from “Mister Rogers’ Neighbourhood,” have been thoughtfully retained, produced using the exact same celeste as in the classic series.

Turtle-Lou: A Heartwarming Tribute to Mr. McFeely
Adding an extra layer of nostalgia and homage to Fred Rogers, Donkey Hodie new episodes introduce Turtle-Lou, a character closely modeled after the cherished Mr. McFeely. This Speedy Delivery turtle promises to capture the hearts of both young and old viewers alike. And that’s not all – in a heartwarming gesture, Turtle-Lou will also treat the audience to a rendition of the beloved Speedy Delivery song. The special episode featuring Turtle-Lou’s musical performance is scheduled to premiere on August 16th.

The animation work for the children’s puppet animation series “Donkey Hodie” is primarily produced by Fred Rogers Productions and Spiffy Pictures. Fred Rogers Productions is a renowned American non-profit organization specializing in creating children’s programming for public television in the United States. At the same time, Spiffy Pictures is also a production company known for its work in children’s content. The series is a collaborative effort between these two studios and is aimed at encouraging preschoolers to set high goals, embrace challenges, be resourceful, and work hard to achieve their aspirations.

The creators of “Donkey Hodie,” David and Adam Rudman, have designed the show with a blend of puppetry and animation, creating a unique visual style that has been described as “live-action animation” by Adam Rudman, the head writer of the series. This innovative approach combines puppetry with animation techniques to bring the characters and stories to life captivatingly.
