The theatrical event of the century, which commences on the 21st of this month, is generating increasing amounts of anticipation. On that hallowed day, two films will be released: Barbie vs Oppenheimer.

Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, a toy-related film starring Margot Robbie as the famed doll, and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, a biopic about the inventor of the atomic bomb.

What are Barbie and Oppenheimer based on?

Each tale alternates between a vividly coloured and a monochromatic image of reality. Both colour and black and white versions of Oppenheimer’s story will be presented, with colour representing the protagonists’ subjective experiences and black and white representing more historically accurate information.

Barbie’s story transitions from Barbie Land’s hyper-saturated colour scheme to the much lighter, grayer, and washed-out “Real World.”

Barbie, whose legacy has a complicated and arguably occasionally negative impact on how young girls view themselves and gender, and Oppenheimer, whose legacy includes the deaths of 226,000 people and the knowledge that he gave the human race the ability to destroy itself, both have protagonists who must grapple with complex legacies.

Which movie should you watch first?

So,the main question is, between Barbie vs Oppenheimer, which should you watch first?

The answer is simple — if you prefer light-hearted movies and comedic drama, Barbie is the way to go! However, if you’re above 15 years of age and have a knack towards history and its events, go for Oppenheimer.
