On Tuesday, the Pokémon Company played a new Pokémon Presents display, presenting everything coming to Pokémon games in the coming days and months. This offered a new glimpse at the most awaited content for Pokémon fans, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

There were a few surprises along the road, including something for Pokémon Go fans to look forward to and the introduction of additional Pokémon animated shows. Everything announced during August 2023 Pokémon Presents webcast is detailed below.

Detective Pikachu Returns
The Pokémon Company released a new trailer for Detective Pikachu Returns, focusing on the sequel’s “gruff, tough-talking, powered-by-coffee” Pikachu and the friends and family of his pal Tim Goodman. The clip shows Detective Pikachu enlisting the help of his Pokémon pals, including an Arcanine who can physically sniff out clues and a Darmanitan who can open up new parts of Ryme City by smashing things.

Detective Pikachu Returns will be available on the Nintendo Switch on October 6.

Pokémon: Path to the Peak – Animated short
Following that, we got our first glimpse at a forthcoming animated series based on the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Pokémon: Path to the Peak will premiere at the 2023 Pokémon World Championships and will tell the narrative of Ava, a young girl who has moved to a new town and is accepted into her school’s Pokémon club. When the rest of us can view it, episode 1 will be available on YouTube on August 11.

Pokémon Go Fest + Scarlet and Violet Pokémon

Following that, we learned about Pokémon Go Fest 2023, which is slated to take place (and, in some cases, has already taken place) in London, Osaka, and New York in early-mid August. The news that Pokémon from the Paldea region, including Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxley, will begin arriving in Pokémon Go in September 2023 is perhaps the most crucial part of this piece of the presentation.

Pokémon Sleep – ‘Good Sleep Day’
Pokémon Sleep may have only recently been published, but The Pokémon Company is already planning the app’s first in-game event. The future event, titled ‘Pokémon Sleep: Good Sleep Day,’ does not yet have a definite date, but it is expected to take place on a full moon and make Snorlax’s Drowsy power higher than usual. More information will be released soon.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet web series – ‘Pokémon: Paldean Winds’
Along with the other Pokémon animated shows already mentioned, an online original animated series based in Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea territory will be released. Several academy students will be followed as they explore the region, meet new Pokémon, and practise their skills. This web series does not yet have a release date; we only know it is “coming soon” and will launch on the official Pokémon YouTube account when it does.
